Aesop in Africa: A Warning against Ruthlessness

;

Sorry about the tragic story but sadly the message is true.

Once, on a hot dusty day in the grasslands of Africa, a hungry lion spotted a young Buck approaching a water hole. The Lion wanted to eat the buck at once. But the Lion decided that he would first ask the Buck why he should not be eaten. The Lion said to the Buck: “Last winter at this water hole you made fun of me. Give me two good reasons why I should not eat you.”

The buck was very afraid and pleaded, “I could not have made fun of you for I was not born then.”

The Lion replied, “Well then., why are you drinking at my water hole?’

To which the Buck whispered, “I have never drunk from any water hole. The only food I have ever tasted is milk from my mother.”

The Lion snarled, “You gave me two good reasons why I should not eat you. But I don’t care. The fact is that I am hungry, so I am going the kill you and eat you.”

Which is exactly what the cruel Lion did at that lonely water hole on a hot dusty day in Africa

The Lesson: Be very careful when dealing with a powerful bullies or tyrants. They are unethical and ruthless. They will always find an excuse to get what they want.

The Tastiest Pie in the World?

Where? Australia. Sydney. Queen Victoria Building. Enter through the George Street entrance. Ground floor. When you recover from the spectacularly beautiful interior, turn left. Walk about 40m. In the centre of the mall is the “Royal Bakery” with tables and chairs. I (John) chose a Steak and Mushroom pie. The pie is full of tender steak, mushrooms and delicious gravy. WARNING: Take care when you cut into the pie or take your first bite! Suddenly out will flow plenty of gravy. And the pastry? Wait until you taste it! Is it the tastiest pie in the world? Most probably! But decide for yourself! See 3 PICTURES below. June 2022.
