At the airport in Baltimore in the USA there are beautiful statues of birds flying in formation. In Port Elizabeth in the Walmer Park Shopping Mall, next to the main lift, there are similar displays of flying birds. Also beautiful.

I was quietly enjoying some seed. I got a fright. To get away quickly I lifted my wings up high and then pumped down. Hard. In the flash. I was away! The three pictures are stills from a slow motion video (set at 4K at 30 fps. 4K at 60 fps might have been better) taken with an iPhone 12 Pro Max. Thanks to my son in London for the “stills from video” tip. The looped video is at the bottom. In the video note how the bird at the top drops down and then takes off. Port Elizabeth, South Africa.
