Why is there a feeling that things are falling apart in these uncertain times? Do we sense that anarchy is increasingly eroding law and order? What has happened to ethics? Is there a centre that is falling apart? What is that centre? What is your centre? What is my centre?
Scroll below picture on your phone, please.

“Turning and turning in the widening gyre
The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.”

Watch this precious moment when a young wagtail is fed cheese by one of its parents. We were privileged to see this, this morning in Port Elizabeth South Africa, outside our kitchen. Enjoy.
“It is not fair calling Australia “the land of the Kookaburra”. What a cheek! I am a beautiful swamp hen. I also live in Australia. And look at the fantastic way that I walk. Eat your heart out, Kookaburra!”😊

“I am still waiting for a turn to show you some pictures. I am also from Australia, you know!”

Thanks again to our friends in Australia for the pictures

Australia is not only the land of the kookaburra. It also has magnificent scenery. There are also many beautiful flowers.
Today my wife and her Australian friend were chatting about this and that and they got onto the subject of the flowers in her Australian garden. We asked her to send some pictures, which she did with some comments.
Here are some of the pictures with comments.

“That show off kookaburra got in first to introduce the pictures of the flowers. We were busy waiting for fisherman to clean their catch. Our turn, next time.”

A few days ago, a gale, accompanied by hail, destroyed this beautiful speckled mousebird nest in Port Elizabeth.
In the days leading up to the disaster, my good friends had been watching the mousebirds build the nest, which was not finished.
There was no evidence of eggs or chicks.
You can see the size of the nest by comparing it with the tennis ball.
For the mousebirds it’s “Back to the drawing board”.
Very sad. but nature will bounce back. 🙂
Click here for more about mousebirds – probably the birds that lost this nest.
Watch mother wagtail feeding her chicks. The kids in the front are clearly on the lookout for mom. Note “dozy” at the back busy preening! Then mom arrives with the food. The reaction of the chicks, including “dozy”, is instant. Yip – I was very lucky to take the video. What a joy!
