Dunsborough beauty near Perth in Western Australia

Very good friends spent some time in Dunsborough recently. Here are three pictures. What a rugged and beautiful coast line. Judging from other pictures the accommodation was excellent and the beaches lots of fun. And wow, look at those shells!

Oswego Lake Piano Improvisation

Oswego Finger Lake. What a wonderful place. We were were very fortunate to go there with family last year. The picture was taken at that time. The piano improvisation is how I felt looking at the picture and reliving the memories. This is a musical experiment. “Tread softly because you tread on my dreams”. Thanks!

Comments welcome. I need to learn. Thank you.JOHNBARTELSPIANO

A lesson from the Bay – The Covid19 storm will pass in due season

To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;

Ecclesiastes 3: 3 & 4

Sometimes the Bay is lashed by storms.

Sometimes the Bay is calm.

In due season, calm, peaceful times will return for us and for all our loved ones.

Trust God

Beauty during the pandemic. The Gunpowder River

This tranquil scene was photographed this morning. It is the Gunpowder River in Baltimore, Maryland in the USA. Fly fishing is popular there. How fortunate we are to live in such a beautiful world.

Hang in there everybody.

We are going to get through this pandemic.

Ribeye “off the grid” African Bush Cooking Master Class

Another masterclass by our two good friends who have many years experience producing meals “off the grid” in the African Bush (Addo). This time it is cooking ribeye steak using a Cobb gas cooker. No coals to clean up. Instant heat. A mouth watering result!

Excellent – cooked in the African bush

Add salads and the “off the grid” meal is ready

Thanks again to our two good and very “bush smart” friends.

Two Grand Canyon “No-No”s – Misplaced Bravado

Take a deep breath and look at these two pictures. They were taken at the North Rim of the Grand canyon. In the top picture do you see the two people? In the bottom picture do you see the girl sitting on the edge of the void? The canyon goes straight down beneath her. It is only my opinion, but in my view people should never, ever take such risks. As I was taking the bottom picture of the girl on the edge people were shouting at her, urging her to go back. Eventually she managed to slide backwards away from the slippery, sandy edge. Fortunately, nobody fell. Thank goodness.
